Hello, and welcome to the first edition of the East Coast Virtual blog. Today we'll take a look at the new discord server!
Recently, a multitude of Virtual Airlines and Organizations have begun moving to discord for communication purposes, as slack was getting problematic with the understanding of the terms of service and the minimum age of use on the platform. Discord, is a lot more clear and is a lot less strict on their minimum age, making it ideal for our usage!
Discord offers a whole new range of features as well, we can easily streamline roles, permissions and even use bots in the server! All of these make the process a lot easier for our staff, from training to the most senior positions, a lot more of it is automated, making it less work in adding and removing pilots from certain channels.
Our server is minimalistic, offering very few differences from our slack workspace. This made the transition easier, on both staff and pilots. We organized our channels into new categories as well, from general channels, to the hub channel category and our training channels as well!
