PILOT AND AIRCRAFT RANKS

New Hire (0-2 Hours)

As a new hire, you will take on ECVA training with a certified instructor. Your training will last about 2-3 hours, and will cover all of the basics. Should you have trouble with our training, we will provide additional sessions prior to a test to ensure you progress. After reaching 2 hours, and passing a checkride, you will be promoted to a second officer.

2nd Officer (2-49.9 Hours)

As a second officer, you will be a fully certified pilot on the smaller aircraft within our fleet. You will be assigned either the A318 and the Q400 as your starting aircraft.

1st Officer (50-99.9 Hours)

Once a First Officer, you are eligible to train on a third aircraft, by the likes of our 737-900 and our 757-200. These aircraft will make you well versed in our fleet, and give you an easy platform to grow upon.

Jr. Captain (100-199.9 Hours)

In order to become a Jr. Captain, you must be in good standing with the VA and be a relatively active pilot. This is a big promotion as it stands right at the 100 hour mark. This promotion will allow you to train on all additional aircraft in our fleet.

Captain (200-349.99 Hours)

From a captain and up, your options are endless, as you grow towards that Chief Captain position.

Senior Captain (350-500 hrs)

If you reach Senior Captain status, you will become a well respected figure within our VA. If the staff team maybe needs help with a decision, or a task, you may even be asked to help because of your experience as a Senior Captain.

Chief Captain (500+ Hours)

At the chief captains status, you are eligible to take up a support staff role by application. This will allow for chief captains to continue their involvement at the airline! The chief captain is also a resource for any pilot, as chief captains are knowledgeable and experienced.
